The bad points are pretty minor, fitting the FitBar to a collar can be quite a task, you have to use a small elastic band. We also have a dog walker and though we trust her its good to know that our dog has a consistent amount of walks. So if we do 10k steps the dog usually has around the same, obviously the dog has done more steps, it's constantly running around us but it gives you a base line for measuring the dogs activity. It doesn't use steps but activity points, which by chance or design seem to fit in well with our fitbit and ms band steps. It's definitely not a fitbit for your dog, its much more basic but is useful for tracking activity. We use this to track our springer spaniel activity levels. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase. They really care about the brand and the experience you have with their product. I imagine if you did have any issues their customer service would be excellent. The battery lasts a long time and we have had no issues with the product. Tracking how active the dogs have been also allows us to make adjustments to feeding. The app that supports it is good as well and we can even track our activity against the dogs in the weekly view! For a small company they go out of their way to make sure you are happy and are always on the end of a live chat to help if you have any problems. I've also been really impressed with the customer support. However it's pretty accurate with picking up play time/ rest time and when they are active.
Essentially it's impossible to track steps in dogs as their movements vary so much. The dogs receive bark points each day based on their activity not steps, however they explain why this is. My husband and I both own a Fitbit and thought it would be fun to track our dogs activities too! We looked into it and discovered FitBark!
